Subscriptions Overview

Written by Elaine
Updated this week

With the evolution of our platform, we have introduced new ways to access the Greyscalegorilla and KitBash3D libraries. You can now subscribe to individual libraries or unlock our complete ecosystem with the Everything Bundle.

Usage Rights

To ensure you are on the correct plan, please review our eligibility requirements (Usage Rights) based on your organization's size:

  • Individual Subscriptions: These plans (Greyscalegorilla Library, KitBash3D Library, and Everything Bundle) are strictly for independent artists and entities consisting of a single owner or principal.

  • Teams Subscription: If your organization, studio, or entity has two or more employees, owners, or contractors, you must use a Teams plan. Individual plans are not permitted for organizations of two or more people, regardless of the number of users.

    • Teams subscriptions provide access to all libraries. We do not offer Teams access to individual libraries.

Subscription Tiers

All subscriptions are managed through Cargo and provide 1-click integration into your preferred 3D software.

Billing

Your billing cycle is based on the day and time you purchased the subscription. Subscriptions are billed annually or monthly.

You can upgrade from a monthly to an annual subscription at anytime during your billing cycle. You'll be charged the prorated difference based on the cost of the new subscription duration and time remaining in your current billing cycle.

We do not allow downgrades from an annual subscription to a monthly subscription.

How to view your subscription details

You can view your renewal date in Cargo -> Profile -> Billing.

You cannot view or manage your subscription from kitbash3d.com/account.

Subscription Renewal Dates

Your subscription automatically renews on the same day each month (or year). If your subscription started on the 31st of a month, and the following month has fewer days, your renewal will occur on the last day of that month.

Examples:

  • 31st of the month: If you subscribe on January 31st, your next renewal will be February 28th (or 29th in a leap year). In March, it will return to the 31st.

  • 30th of the month: If you subscribe on August 30th, your February renewal will be February 28th.

Example: Annual Subscription

Original subscription purchase date and time: February 2, 2025 at 9:36 am

  • Automatic Renewal: February 2, 2026 at 9:36 am

  • Cancellation: To cancel this subscription's renewal, you would have to click Cancel in Cargo any month, week or day BEFORE Feb 2, 2026

Example: Monthly Subscription

Original subscription purchase date and time: March 31, 2026 at 4:52 pm

  • Automatic Renewal: April 30, 2026 at 4:52 pm

  • Cancellation: This subscription will automatically renew every month until you click Cancel in Cargo on any day BEFORE the listed next renewal date.

How to cancel your subscription

You can disable the next auto-renewal in Cargo by navigating to Profile -> Billing -> Cancel Plan. You'll be asked to confirm your cancellation, so be sure to go through each step completely.

Cancelling your subscription will stop the next auto-renewal.

Cancelling your subscription will not end your access early, you can disable the next renewal at anytime before the billing cycle ends.

Step 1. Navigate to your Profile -> Billing

Step 2. Click Cancel Subscription

Step 3. A browser window will open, confirm your cancellation. This step must be taken in order to disable the next auto-renewal. If you skip this step, your subscription will continue to renew.

FAQ

What can I use subscriptions for?

✔ Use in Commercial Projects – Films, games, VR/AR, marketing, and more

✔ Modify & Customize – Re-texture, edit, and integrate into your own original works

✔ Use in unlimited Projects – If you have an active subscription OR if you've purchased a Kit

✔ Share Within Your Licensed Team – Teams License holders can distribute assets to their licensed employees

✔ Publish & Monetize Your Work – Sell finished films, games, and creative projects that include Cargo assets

Usage restrictions:

❌ Resell or Redistribute Assets – You can’t share, resell, or distribute standalone assets

❌ Use After Subscription Ends – If a subscription expires, assets can’t be used in new projects

❌ Train AI or Machine Learning Models – Cargo assets cannot be used for AI training or neural networks

❌ Use the Wrong Usage Rights – If a company (or employee of a company) selects a license below their actual size, it is invalid

❌ Claim the Assets as your Own – While you can modify and incorporate assets into your projects, you can’t claim ownership over the original assets

Can I end my annual subscription early if I only need a few months?

No. When you purchase an annual subscription, you’re committed to a full year of access.

Subscriptions cannot be terminated early. If you’d like to ensure your subscription does not automatically renew at the end of the billing cycle, please log into Cargo and follow the steps to cancel the next renewal.

Do I lose rights to the projects I created if I cancel my subscription?

No. Canceling your plan has no effect on the rights of works you have created.

During your subscription you are granted a license to use Cargo Assets in any Larger Work.
You may continue to use and display those Assets as part of the Larger Work in the same manner in which those Assets were incorporated as part of the Larger Work prior to termination.

A Larger Work is the final creative project that incorporates KitBash3D products as part of a broader composition.

The relevant section of our EULA is 3.2.3.a:

a. If you have purchased a Subscription, the license rights granted in Section 3.1.1 are granted during the Term only, provided that, for any Assets that you properly incorporated as part of a Larger Work in accordance with the license rights granted to you in Section 3.1.1 above, you may, following the Term, continue to use and display those Assets as part of the Larger Work in the same manner in which those Assets were incorporated as part of the Larger Work prior to termination.

After your subscription ends you would be able to continue working on Larger Works already in progress, release a Large Work that was created prior to your subscription ending, and continue to promote/monetize Larger Works created during your subscription.

Can I continue to use downloaded Cargo Assets in new scenes after my subscription ends?

No. While you retain the rights to any works you create during your subscription, you cannot import, transfer, copy or use Cargo Assets in any new projects once your subscription ends.
Our subscription does not grant ownership of assets; it provides a License to our assets during the active term.

The relevant section of our EULA is 3.2.2:

3.2.2. The Assets may be used by you as part of your Larger Works. You acknowledge and agree that Larger Works must include substantial additional content and/or imagery in addition to the Assets. Furthermore, for any Asset downloaded, imported or obtained from a Platform as part of a Subscription, the Asset may only be used in the Larger Work for which it was originally imported from the Platform; for Subscription users, the removal of an Asset from the original Larger Work to a new or different Larger Work is expressly prohibited. For clarity, a single Asset downloaded, imported, or obtained from a Platform pursuant to a Perpetual License may be used in multiple Larger Works or moved to new or different Larger Works.
