The Asset Inspector
Click any asset and the Asset Inspector opens on the right. It shows the asset's preview images (scroll through angles, or enlarge to full screen), its name, the Kit it belongs to, polycount, scale, and material count.
Below the details are your send settings:
Target software — which connected 3D software the asset will be sent to. Add or change software in the side nav.
Texture size — defaults to the size set in your Software Settings. Each option in the dropdown shows its file size, so you can pick fidelity or speed per asset.
Downloading an asset
Click Download Asset. The button becomes a progress bar.
You don't have to wait: keep clicking Download on other assets and Cargo queues them, working through the queue in order. You can also download straight from the grid without opening the inspector.
Downloads are saved to your download location, which you can view or change in Settings → Software.
Sending an asset to your 3D software
Once an asset finishes downloading, the button becomes Send Asset — on grid cards it reads Send to [your software], so the next step is always visible.
Open your 3D software and make sure the Cargo connector is active. If the software isn't connected, the Send button stays disabled until it is.
Click Send once. Cargo hands the asset to your software.
Cargo will show Sent when the handoff completes — complex assets can take a little longer to appear in your scene while your software builds materials and geometry.
Each application behaves a little differently. The per-software guides in Connecting Cargo to Your 3D Software cover setup and software-specific troubleshooting checkpoints.
When a Kit Receives an Update
Examples: A bug in an asset is fixed, a Kit is updated to Gameplay Ready
If a new version of a Kit is released, Cargo automatically switches the Send Asset button back to Download Asset for affected assets — you don't need to delete the older version to trigger a fresh download.
Avoid manually deleting Kit folders from your download location to try to force a re-download. Existing projects that reference those files can break if the files are removed.
Finding everything you've downloaded
My Downloads in the sidebar collects every asset you've downloaded — models, materials, lighting, and textures in one grid, newest first, with sub-pages per asset type.
If something fails
A failed download or send shows Download Failed or Send Failed on the button hover and click Retry.
Error dialogs link directly to the matching help article for that error code.
If a downloaded file is invalid or corrupted, the error dialog offers a Repair option that re-fetches the files.
