Whispers tell of their hidden hand, weaving through time’s tapestry—spreading secrets to rulers in shadowed halls, tilting the scales of power, and turning the tides of epic battles. Some say they’ve sculpted the very soul of civilization and philosophy, breathing life into art, literature, and myth.

Now, the echoes call out to you, daring you to join this epic quest. Your mission—should you choose to accept—is to unearth and share one of the Secrets of the Luminara. Each story, a piece of a grand puzzle, will collectively craft their legend.

To begin your expedition, download Cargo and access your free 'Secrets of the Luminara' Kit. Alongside ancient wonders, your Kit includes a rugged off-roader, a cargo plane to deliver supplies, and an airship that can bring your explorers via air or sea.

You can submit for any of the categories (still, animation, game), as well as enter as many submissions as you want!

If you choose to submit multiple pieces of work, they will each be judged individually, not collectively.

Anyone that submits to one of the three above categories will automatically entered into the Community Award category.

The Community Award is chosen by our KitBash3D community. By entering one of the three main categories, all submissions are automatically eligible. After the finalists are chosen for judging, the KitBash3D team will handpick three submissions for community voting.

Voting for the Community Award will take place on our Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/kitbash3d/ and the submission with the most likes will win the Community Award.

You're welcome to collaborate with multiple artists to submit a piece, but only one winner will be selected so it'll be up to you and your fellow artists to decide how to split the prize(s) in the chance of winning.

Qualifying submissions must use at least one asset from the Secrets of the Luminara Kit and incorporate the Challenge themes of uncovering a hidden ancient civilization, and bringing their legends and myths to life.

Submissions for the Concept Award category must be an image with at least 1,000px by 1,000px resolution. The image can be any aspect ratio.

Images must use at least one asset from the Secrets of the Luminara Kit.

Images can be created in any 3D software, however submissions created using AI art generation tools are not allowed.

Submissions for the In-Motion Award category must be at least 5 seconds in duration. There is no maximum duration. Videos should be at least 1,000px by 1,000px resolution. There is no maximum resolution.

Videos must use at least one asset from the Secrets of the Luminara Kit.

Images can be created in any 3D software, however submissions created using AI art generation tools are not allowed.

Submissions for the Game Award category must be a UEFN level (map) that is published with an accessible ISLAND CODE, as well as a video at least 15 seconds in duration. There is no maximum duration. Videos should be at least 1,000px by 1,000px resolution.

Ensure that your UEFN experience complies with Epic Games’ content guidelines, avoiding any inappropriate or prohibited content.

Avoid using copyrighted material that you do not have permission to use. This includes music, logos, or characters not owned by Epic Games.

You must submit an ISLAND CODE and video for entry into the challenge.

Challenge submissions will be evaluated by our expert panel of judges based on incorporation of the theme, render quality, creativity, storytelling and playability (for the Game Award category).

All judges are solely participating in the Secrets of the Luminara Challenge as individuals, and are not representing their employers or other affiliated companies. Their companies are not sponsors or partners of the Challenge. Participation in the Challenge or selection as a finalist or winner does not provide for any consideration of employment or other endorsement from those companies.

There are 3 categories of submissions and prizes that will be decided by our distinguished panel of judges – Concept, In-Motion & Game Awards.

In each category 1st, 2nd, 3rd place prizes will be awarded and a prize for honorable mention finalists.

No substitution or transfer of prizes permitted, except at the sole discretion of KitBash3D. If any portion of a prize is unavailable, KitBash3D reserves the right to substitute that portion of a prize with a prize of equal or greater value.

Each prize winner will be responsible for paying all costs and expenses related to the use of a prize including, but not limited to, applicable federal, state or local taxes, and any expenses that might reasonably be incurred by the prize winner in receiving or using the prize. Any prize not claimed under the terms of these Official Rules may be deemed, in KitBash3D’s sole discretion, to be forfeited.

Secrets of the Luminara Challenge rules

The Secrets of the Luminara Challenge is open to all members of the KitBash3D community who are 13 years of age or older and do not reside in one of the following countries or jurisdictions that have been sanctioned by the United States of America: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. Other individuals or entities specifically sanctioned by the U.S. are not eligible to participate. KitBash3D employees and contractors and their immediate family members are not eligible to receive prizes as part of the Challenge.

Due to shipping restrictions, the Community Award portion of the Secrets of the Luminara Challenge is only available to members of the community residing in the United States of America.

Members outside the U.S. are not eligible to participate or receive prizes associated with the Community Award category.

Total prize value includes goods and services from all sponsors. Individual prize values may vary. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Prize availability is contingent upon sponsor participation and may be subject to change. Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes and fees associated with their prizes. Participation is subject to eligibility requirements.
