Licensing for Cargo assets will differ based on the Cargo plan you select.

With Cargo Basic, you get access to our free assets from Mission to Minerva and Neo City. You may use these assets for personal projects only.

Cargo Basic is a non-commercial license.

With Cargo Pro, you get a royalty-free license to use ALL our assets in any of your projects as long as you are subscribed. If you cancel your Cargo Pro subscription, you will lose access to the assets in Cargo, but you will retain the rights to any work you create during your subscription.

Your work is your work and you are free to use the content created during your subscription however you’d like.

Cargo End User License Agreement FAQ

Q: What can I use Cargo Pro assets for?

A: Cargo assets can be used in various personal or commercial projects, including:

  • Film / TV

  • Video Games

  • Commercials / Advertisements

  • Architectural Visualization

  • Interactive Experiences

  • NFTs

You can deliver final images or videos featuring KitBash3D assets but may not distribute 3D scenes with available or editable assets.

Usage restrictions:

  • NOT for training data or connection with machine learning (ML) or artificial intelligence (AI).

  • NOT for platforms where assets are distributed as purchasable or modifiable.

  • NOT for distribution that allows unlicensed or unauthorized access to Cargo assets.

Q: Do I lose rights to the things I made with Cargo if I cancel my subscription?

A: No. Canceling your Cargo Subscription has no effect on the rights of works you have created. During your subscription you are granted a license to use Cargo Assets in any Large Work. Larger Work is defined as:

(i) Larger Works must include substantial additional content and/or imagery in addition to the Assets; and (ii) an Asset may only be used in the Larger Work for which it was originally imported from the Cargo Platform. The removal of an Asset from the original Larger Work to a new or different Larger Work is expressly prohibited.

This means that during your subscription you are free to create as many projects you would like using Cargo Assets. After your subscription ends you would be able to continue working on Larger Works already in progress, release a Large Work that was created prior to your subscription ending, and continue to promote/monetize Larger Works created during your subscription.

Once you cancel, you can no longer create new Larger Works with Cargo Assets. Additionally, you wouldn’t be able to transfer the Cargo Assets from one Larger Work into another project.

The relevant section of our EULA is 3.2.3:

The license rights in Section 3.1 are granted during the Term only. However, for any Assets that you properly incorporated as part of a Larger Works pursuant to the license rights granted to you in Section 3.1 above, you may, following the Term, continue to use and display those Assets as part of the Larger Work in the same manner in which those Assets were incorporated as part of the Larger Work prior to termination.

Q: Do I need to maintain the subscription after I have released my work?

A: No. Cargo grants you the rights to use Cargo Assets in your Larger Works.

You will retain the rights to these works after the subscription ends. So, you would be free to continue monetizing and promoting any Larger Work that was created properly during your subscription.

Q: I am a Solo Game Dev or Solopreneur, can I use Cargo Pro?

A: Yes. A company of one person or an individual can use Cargo Pro for both Commercial and Personal use.

The relevant section of our EULA is 2.1.3 a:

Cargo Pro is intended for single individual users and/or entities consisting of a single owner or principle. Users having multiple owners or principles and/or having multiple employees and/or independent contractors working on their behalf are ineligible for Cargo Pro.

Q: Can I use Cargo Assets for Commercial Purposes?

A: Cargo Pro and Teams plans grant commercial use while Cargo Basic does not. All licenses do have some restrictions around the type of content you can make though. For example, you cannot use our models to train AI.

The relevant section of our EULA is 3.2.2

The Assets may be used by you as part of images, videos and/or interactive experiences which you create separate and apart from the Assets (“Larger Work(s)”). You acknowledge and agree that: (i) Larger Works must include substantial additional content and/or imagery in addition to the Assets; and (ii) an Asset may only be used in the Larger Work for which it was originally imported from the Cargo Platform. The removal of an Asset from the original Larger Work to a new or different Larger Work is expressly prohibited.

Full list of exceptions can be found in section 3.2 (License Obligations, Restrictions and Limitations) of our EULA

Q: Can I use Cargo Basic Assets in my Commercial Projects?

A: No. Cargo Basic is a non-commercial license intended for personal use only. If you are a studio looking to test Cargo’s functionality and compatibility with your pipeline, feel free to use Cargo Basic for testing purposes. Assets downloaded this way are not licensed for commercial use.

The relevant section of our EULA is 2.1.1 C:

Cargo Basic is for non-commercial use only; Cargo Basic users must only access the KitBash3D Model and Material Libraries and use any Assets for the user’s personal, internal use. Users seeking to obtain commercial use rights should purchase a Cargo Pro or Cargo Teams subscription. Notwithstanding this subsection (c), if you are a Cargo Basic user who has purchased or obtained from KitBash3D perpetual license rights to certain 3D Model Kits, this subsection (c) does not limit your license rights to such 3D Model Kits, and you may continue to access and use those 3D Model Kits through Cargo Basic in accordance with the license rights you separately obtained or purchased.

Q: If I sell my game do the license rights transfer?

A: Yes. If you sell your game or your company and transfer the ownership to a third party you can transfer that KitBash3D license as well. Doing so requires written notice to the following:

Mail:

KitBash3D LLC

Attn: Legal Department

8605 Santa Monica Blvd PMB 90726

West Hollywood, CA 90069

The relevant section of our EULA is 12.3:

You will not assign or otherwise delegate your rights or obligations under this Agreement without the prior written consent of KitBash3D, such consent not to be unreasonably refused, withheld, conditioned or delayed. Any attempted assignment or delegation in violation of this Section 12.3 will be void. The restrictions on assignment or delegation set forth in this Section 12.3 shall not prejudice or impair the rights granted to you in Section 3.2.3 above.

Q: Can I continue to use downloaded Cargo Assets in new scenes after my subscription ends?

A: No. While you retain the rights to any works you create during your subscription, you cannot import or use Cargo Assets in any new projects.

The relevant section of our EULA is 3.2.2:

An Asset may only be used in the Larger Work for which it was originally imported from the Cargo Platform. The removal of an Asset from the original Larger Work to a new or different Larger Work is expressly prohibited.
