Do we still need Teams Usage Rights if only one member of our team is using the assets?

Licensing Requirements for Multi-Person Studios and Firms

Written by Elaine
Updated over a week ago

If your company, studio, or firm consists of two or more people (including owners, staff, or contractors), you are required to purchase a Teams subscription for any employee using Cargo.

The Usage Rights are determined by the total size of the entity, not the number people that access Cargo.

If a company purchases Usage Rights below its actual size, the License is invalid.

Usage Rights FAQ

Why does the Teams plan include 4 seats? I’m the only one that needs to use Cargo.

The Teams plan is built to provide a professional foundation for your business to scale without friction. Instead of charging per individual user from the start, your subscription covers up to 4 team members immediately. This ensures that as you bring on a partner, hire your first employee, or add a contractor to a project, your usage rights are already compliant and your team has instant access to Cargo without any additional billing hurdles.

Can I switch from an Individual to a Teams plan if my studio grows?

Yes. If you start as a solo creator but hire a second employee or a long-term contractor, your entity size has changed. To remain compliant and ensure your license is valid, you must upgrade to a Teams subscription. Our system is designed to scale with your business so your usage rights stay up to date as you grow.
