We're aware of a few issues that may be blocking you from successfully importing assets into your 3D software after the recent Cargo updates for Windows and macOS.

This guide outlines known bugs, how to identify them and potential resolutions.

We understand this can be an interruption in your workflow and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we get this fixed. We'll keep this article up to date as our team deploys a fix.

Asset Download Issues

I can download mostly smaller assets, but anything large is failing or getting stuck with an incomplete download.

I keep receiving Error 106: No internet connection when downloading assets.

Current Status: In Progress

Our engineering team is actively working on resolving the issue that's currently blocking some assets from downloading completely.

We'll keep this article updated as soon as the fix is deployed.

I can't download any assets. I either receive a download error message or the assets fail to finish downloading in the queue.

This may be due to your internet connection.

As a first step, please restart your modem, router and computer. Generally when all downloads fail, your network just needs to be restarted.

If this does not allow you to download anything, take the below steps:

Windows

  1. In Windows File Explorer, navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\kitbash3d

  2. Delete the entire kitbash3d folder

  3. Restart your computer, router, and modem

  4. Log into Cargo

  5. In Cargo Account settings, go through Software Setup again - choosing your 3D software from the menu

  6. Enable/Turn on the Cargo plugin within your 3D software (See guides for each DCC HERE)

macOS

  1. on macOS use Cmd + Shift + G

  2. Enter path /users/YOURNAME/.kitbash3d

  3. Delete the contents of the .kitbash3d folder

  4. Restart your computer, router, and modem

  5. Log into Cargo

  6. In Cargo Account settings, go through Software Setup again - choosing your 3D software from the menu

  7. Enable/Turn on the Cargo plugin within your 3D software (See guides for each DCC HERE)

As an extra assurance, to make sure Cargo works on your network, you’ll need to whitelist Cargo domains within your internal network security systems:

  1. kitbash3d-api.com

  2. *.kitbash3d-api.com

  3. kitbashengineering.com

  4. *.kitbashengineering.com

Plugin Update Required

If you've run into this message, do not have your 3D software running and cannot click Update Plugins, follow the below steps to reset your Cargo application settings.

Windows

  1. In Windows File Explorer, navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\kitbash3d

  2. Delete the entire kitbash3d folder

  3. Restart your computer, router, and modem

  4. Log into Cargo

  5. In Cargo Account settings, go through Software Setup again - choosing your 3D software from the menu

  6. Enable/Turn on the Cargo plugin within your 3D software (See guides for each DCC HERE)

macOS

  1. on macOS use Cmd + Shift + G

  2. Enter path /users/YOURNAME/.kitbash3d

  3. Delete the contents of the .kitbash3d folder

  4. Restart your computer, router, and modem

  5. Log into Cargo

  6. In Cargo Account settings, go through Software Setup again - choosing your 3D software from the menu

  7. Enable/Turn on the Cargo plugin within your 3D software (See guides for each DCC HERE)

Multiple instances of Cargo in Task Manager

Windows

If your instance of Cargo is freezing or causing your computer to freeze, open the Task manager and see if there are multiple instances of Cargo running.

If this is the case, take the below steps:

1. Close Cargo if it’s running.

2. Open Command Prompt (press Start, type cmd, hit Enter).

3. Run this command (adjust the path if needed):

"C:\Path\To\Cargo.exe" --disable-gpu

(Be sure to replace C:\Path\To\Cargo.exe with the actual path where Cargo is installed)

4. Restart your computer

This disables GPU acceleration, which is can the cause of freezes on systems with multiple graphics cards.

Optional, but recommended if you're using a NVIDIA card:

1. Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics.

2. Find or add Cargo in the list: Click “Browse” and find Cargo.exe if it’s not already listed.

3. Click Options, then choose your NVIDIA card

4. Save and restart computer again

Blank White Screen after opening Cargo

With the latest release of Cargo, some backend changes have affected how it connects on certain networks.

We’ve updated the domains that need to be whitelisted in order for Cargo to function properly in environments with stricter network permissions.

The white screen you’re seeing is directly related to this and should resolve once the updated domains are allowed on your organization's network:

kitbash3d-api.com

*.kitbash3d-api.com

kitbashengineering.com

*.kitbashengineering.com
